We’re hurtling towards winter and the temperatures are starting to drop. That’s no excuse for almost skipping my session tonight but an explanation. Not good enough though, as I dragged my stiff carcass onto the treadmill and pushed for a full thirty-five minutes. To make matter worse, I played the wrong playlist and went from pumping soca to a silky smooth version of Besame Mucho. It wasn’t until the last ten minutes that I recognised the gaffe. At least, I ran for five minutes at a speed of 4.0 and tried to be mindful of my stride. According to Runner’s World, many injuries stem from poor running posture. It was interesting because when I stretched out to a full stride, my gait was lighter and there was less strain all over. Unfortunately, I was really feeling the strain when the workout was over but couldn’t dare brave the stairs to get Absorbine Jr. Oh, I’m going to feeling this tomorrow and if I am, then I just might skip a workout to rest these legs. Until then my resolve remains the same. No retreat, no surrender and no excuses!
