Fitness Revolution: Day 72

What a difference chicken soup can make! Tonight’s workout was excellent. I got out my weighted jump-rope and was pleasantly surprised that I could use it without muscle pain or feeling winded. Needless to say, they’re going to be a permanent part of my sessions. I spent more time stretching before the treadmill session and those were difficult. More work is definitely needed there. You’ll see that I maintained a speed of 3.0 because I seek a well-rounded workout. There were also arm movements with wrist and hand weights. After the treadmill session, I took a little break before only three sets of floor exercises: flexibility, fifty crunches and ten push-ups.

I probably could have done more but injury would be disastrous and I’ll err on the side of caution. Getting fit has never been easy and now it’s tougher than ever. However, I feel better lately than I have in a while and despite the temptation – I am not checking the scale anymore. It doesn’t tell me anything I don’t already know and is not an effective tool to measure my fitness level. Tomorrow’s a new day and we’re moving forward, forward, forward. No retreat, no surrender and no excuses!
