Another night and another work out but don’t mistake that for a complaint because it’s not. I’m still gently pushing the envelope and managed four minutes running at 4.0 speed. It was really hard but I enjoyed the sense of accomplishment more than anything else. At the end of thirty minutes, I just didn’t want to stop, so there was an extra five. It felt so good that the work out will be thirty-five minutes from now on. For inspiration, I always try to keep a fitness heroine in mind during the workout. Preity Zinta is a favourite. She’s not skinny like typical movie stars but fit and fashionable.
Another favourite is Rachel McLish, the very first Ms. Olympia and proof that muscle tone on a woman can be sexy. Unfortunately female body builders don’t look like the lovely Rachel anymore. However, today my fitness heroine was my sister Carol. She’d been ill for most of the day but still put in half-hour on the treadmill. Now that’s what I call commitment. No retreat, no surrender and no excuses!
