My Fitness Revolution Day 291: Hello Mr. Treadmill

We all love modern conveniences: electricity, indoor plumbing, high speed internet, air conditioning, etc.  Some of them are more luxurious than merely convenient, however, they make our lives easier and are much appreciated for that.  For fitness-minded folks, exercise machines like the stationary bicycle, elliptical, stair climber and treadmill are very important.  Not because they’re essential but because they’re convenient.  I love our Proform XP590s treadmill.  It was a gift from one of our friends and although it’s been well-used, that hasn’t diminished its functions.  Today, while the rains fell and thunder rolled, I was able to complete a run.  I could feel how much slower I was on the treadmill but the pace was pleasant; and after six days of relative inactivity, I was just happy to be running again.

The Difference

The goal was three miles, but I got called away and had to cut the session short.  At least I was able to cross two miles, so there’s no shame to be had.  Afterwards, I completed the Holly Perkins Fitsugar Arm Circuit with 5lb hand weights and Exercise TV Sports Cool Down.  These videos are very indispensible to me at this time.  The Arm Circuit went well and I was able to do the Side Raise Hold without bending my elbows too much.  However, I’m sorry that I didn’t do the Cool Down after my workout on Day 290.  My thighs and booty are still feeling the burn from that workout.  My sister took a photo of me afterwards and for the first time, it really dawned on me how much weight I’ve lost.  I couldn’t even get that pair track-pants past my knees when I started out last year.  The shirt looked like it was being worn by the Michelin Man before, but now I don’t even have to pull in my stomach for photos.  This isn’t bragging but a testimonial that hard work always pays off.  No retreat, no surrender and no excuses!
