My Fitness Revolution: Days 235 to 238

On Day 235, I closed off Week 7 of the Robert Ullrey C25K podcast.  I won’t lie, it was a difficult task.  My five minute brisk walk warm-up was interrupted and that messed me up mentally.  There was a continuous argument in my head but despite that I got it done.  Day 237 was a good deal easier although in theory, it shouldn’t have been that way.  The night before was a sleepless one and I hadn’t eaten particularly well.  However, Week 8 with its twenty-eight minute non-stop run was more than manageable.  The past couple treadmill sessions, I noticed that the 1lb wrist weights have been almost unbearable to wear.  To ensure that my arms get some kind of workout, after the treadmill session I did the Arm Circuit with Holly Perkins and the 2lb hand weights.  On Day 236, it was the non-running routine with The Jane Fonda Workout Record (1982) and Miss Holly’s workout with the 5lb hand weights.  I really enjoy these exercises.  They’re enough of a challenge to make me “feel the burn” but have also worked wonders for my flexibility.

It’s important to note that I usually take brief pauses during these workouts to shake out my arms or legs as needed.  Or even take a sip of water.  We should never push ourselves to the point of exhaustion and/or injury.  This week we used the YouTube App on Xbox LIVE in order to see Miss Holly’s workout on the television.  I loved it and really want to try her Class FitSugar Total-Body 10-Minute Workout Video.  It looks tough but clocks in at twelve minutes with the cool down stretches.  It will be great for days when I’m pressed for time and also maintain the muscle confusion theory.  In the past two months, I’ve become stronger, faster and lighter than I’ve been in a long time.  However, I’ve also done it safely.  This week I’ve been able to start using smaller clothes that I wasn’t been able to squeeze into.  Hard work does pay off for those who are diligent.  No retreat, no surrender and no excuses!
