That’s right, my whole family got the cold. We’ve been feverish, coughing, hacking, teary-eyed, snotty-nosed and utterly pathetic; but at least we’ve been together. It was an utterly miserable Spring Break, with nothing to comfort us but piles of fluffy blankets and lots of television. Between the marathon before the Doctor Who season premiere and the marathon before The Walking Dead season finale, there was some degree of comfort. Okay, maybe not after The Walking Dead’s season finale. That was pretty traumatic, and no I don’t want to talk about it.
Things started looking up on Easter weekend, although I was praying very hard to be in a better place by April 1st. Holly Perkins’ new DVD Slim Sexy Strong is out and I’m waiting for it to arrive in the mail. When it does, I’ll join her Midsection Makeover program that’s already started. Lord knows, my midsection could do with a makeover, and I’ll be writing about my experience. I’m not throwing in the towel on yoga, but I really missed my cardio and weight training. It’s good to spice up a weekly routine, but can’t make up the bulk of it, not for me anyway. I miss my weights and they miss me. They look at me on the yoga mat and say, “Mummy, pick us up and put us down.” Hey now, that was a little joke. I haven’t taken too much Dayquil or Nyquil. What about you, guys? Have you avoided the dreaded cold that comes when winter tries to overstay its welcome?
