Sometimes You’ve Got to Fight For Your Fitness

Sorry for the cryptic blog post title but that’s the way this week had ended up.  It was really hard to get my workouts done and most of them were much later than I would have liked.  That’s nobody’s fault but mine and a bout of poor time management.  I tried to get back to the training level that seemed to be so comfortable to me about a month ago.  However, that seemed easier said than done.  Perhaps my continuous deviations from the plan have become my undoing?  On Wednesday, I completed the Total Tone 360 workout from the Fitness 360 DVD, using 5lb dumbbells.  It was much less of a challenge, so next time I’m going to definitely reintegrate the heavier weights into those sessions.  When I lift, I want to lift!

On Valentine’s Day, my schedule was a bit crazy and I didn’t get to exercise until quite late at night.  No, I didn’t have a romantic rendezvous but thanks for thinking that.  No, really.  Truth is that I couldn’t separate myself to use the treadmill that day.  As a matter of fact, that carried over into the next day as well.  Instead of Fitsugar’s Flow Yoga that’s been making me feel quite a burn lately, I opted for a more conventional workout with their CrossFit Tabata mash-up workout.  Afterwards, I did twenty walking lunges and finished up with Exercise TV’s Sports Cool Down.  It’s been a long time since I did that Holly Perkins workout and sorely needed it.

Sometimes You’ve Got to Fight For Your Fitness

This cold is ridiculous.

Speaking of sore, my thighs are in a world of pain.  So much so, that I decided to forgo today’s workout in favour of rest, one day early.  It’s been very cold lately but I refuse to get discouraged.  January’s usually my toughest month and that’s over.  I utterly refuse to let February take its place.  Oh no, there will be a workout on Sunday.  I’m just not 100% sure as to what exactly.  Regarding food, I’ve tried to eat smartly but haven’t fully transitioned back to Truvia from brown sugar.  Granted, I’m having less sugar and still drinking water in addition to fruit juice.  However, I need to get my diet back on track.  No retreat, no surrender and no excuses!
